The Practice
A deeply human approach to therapy.
Hello! My name is Ashley Hardick and I believe that therapy shouldn't feel clinical, sterile, or disconnected. You are not a diagnosis to be fixed; you are a human being who has adapted to survive.
My practice is built on the belief that while trauma happens in isolation, healing happens in connection. I meet clients exactly where they are—with a grounded, compassionate, and warm presence.
The Aspen Grove
Above ground, an aspen tree appears to stand alone. But beneath the soil, aspen trees grow in interconnected root systems—a single, massive organism sharing nutrients, resilience, and life.
Dawn Light
"Dawn" carries the emergence of light after darkness: a hope that isn't forcefully assumed, but gently earned through the brave work of facing what hurts.
The Therapist
Ashley Hardick, LSW (She/hers)
I am a trauma therapist and Licensed Social Worker (LSW) who works alongside clients with a strengths‑focused, client‑centered, and deeply trauma‑informed approach. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and I integrate somatic work to support nervous‑system regulation and embodied healing.
I take a systemic perspective, exploring internal systems, family systems, and the broader societal systems that shape each person’s lived experience. I meet clients exactly where they are, honoring their background, identity, and story. I approach therapy through a holistic trauma lens, considering generational trauma, personal trauma, and secondary trauma as I walk alongside clients. My work is grounded, compassionate, and shaped by the belief that healing happens in connection and within the body.
My clinical experience includes working with survivors of domestic violence and family violence, single parents and family systems, teens, as well as extensive case management supporting youth and families navigating the foster care system, runaway episodes, trafficking risk or victimization, juvenile justice involvement, and housing instability. I especially enjoy working within family systems, helping clients understand patterns, strengthen relationships, and heal across generations.
I chose the name Aspen Dawn Counseling to reflect the emergence of light after darkness and the resilience found in the interconnected root systems of aspen groves—an image that mirrors the strength, connection, and renewal at the heart of therapeutic work.
As a licensed social worker (LSW.0009925997), I work under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Stephanie Reyes LCSW (CSW.09931424).
